New Neighbors

A little while ago my neighbors left and now I have new neighbors.  I have only met one of the neighbors and that’s the dad.  In their family there are four of them, one of them is younger than me, the other is older than me. The dad seems really nice so I think there going to be good neighbors.

Darien Lake

Last Sunday my family and I left to go to Darien Lake.  It was a two hour and thirty minute long car ride.  In the car ride, my brother and I played our DSs.  About thirty seconds after we got there our friends came to see us at our RV. In total there were 17 of us. It was really cool to live in an RV for three days; pretty much the only thing we did in the RV was sleep.  The first ride I went on was the Predator.  It was a wooden roller coaster and it was very bumpy and fast, and it was my second favorite roller coaster there.  The next ride was my favorite roller coaster at that park, called the Ride of Steel, which was about the same height as Canada’s Wonderland’s Behemoth.  The roller coaster was really smooth, and it was the only roller coaster that didn’t hurt my brother.  It was a really fast roller coaster because of the first drop.  Then my brother and I did the Twister which is just like the Riptide except you don’t get wet.  It was also a really good ride.

After that we went to a show featuring a tightrope walker. His name was Nick Wallanda and he walked across Niagara Falls last year. The show also had a exceptional juggler who had Guinness World records for juggling seven balls behind his back.

Next we got ready for the show Ignite the Night and there was thirty minutes until it started. So I went on the Boomerang which is exactly the same as the bat, except that it is blue and a little shorter. DSC07690

Ignite the Night is a show with fireworks and lasers. There was always a song going on with pictures that explained them. It was a good show but the Nick Wallanda show was better. Just before we left Darien Lake, we took a photo which I photobombed my parents.

The Zoo

On Tuesday, my family and I went to the Toronto Zoo. The car ride took us an hour and thirty minutes, so we arrived around eleven. We saw lots of spectacular animals and my favourite ones were the gorillas and tortoises. Jace enjoyed the gorillas because they were very active and fun to watch, and I liked watching the tortoises eat their lettuce. Once we got hungry, we went to a restaurant in the zoo. Mom, Jace and I got a blue raspberry slushie. It was delicious. My dad had one slice of pizza that was cut in half and Jace had also had a double bacon cheese burger. Which is really big and he ate the whole thing. After we ate, we saw the pandas and left the zoo. It was an amazing trip!

@ the Movies – revised

Yesterday I went to the movie theater to watch Guardians of the Galaxy. My favorite characters were Rocket, the talking raccoon and Groot the human like tree.  I really like Groot because all he says is “I am Groot.”  I really like Rocket because he is really funny.  The movie was really good because there was lots of action and it was hilarious.  Peter Quill, who also calls himself Starlord, was also humorous. For example, when the bad guy was going to destroy the world he started dancing. It was one movie that my dad could actually watch over and over again.  That was how good it was and it was the best movie that I saw all year.

The Blue Jay game

This is a photo of my brother Jace, my friend Darius, and me.

Yesterday I went to a Blue Jays game.  At the game it was so hot that everybody was sweating but it was still really fun to watch.  My family and I were there with friends.  We got there a little late and we missed the first inning where Detroit scored three runs, which is terrible.  Then, in the next inning nobody scored any runs.  In the third and the fourth inning Detroit scored one run.  So it was five nothing.  Then, we started making a come back so that in the ninth inning it was five-four for Detroit.  At the top of the inning Detroit scored zero runs.  At the bottom of the ninth we scored a run to tie it up and it went into extra innings.  We decided to leave because it was so hot and we went to dairy Queen.  Then my family and I said bye to our friends.  After that we went on a subway back to our car and then drove home for an hour long car ride.  When we got back the game still wasn’t done so we watched some more of the game when we got home.  The Blue Jays ended up winning in the 19th inning.  It was the longest home game in Blue jay history, it was about 7 hours long.

Here is a photo from the bottom of the ninth with the bases loaded for the Jays and a full count to the batter . . .

Drum Corps trip

A long time ago, my dad played in a Drum and Bugle Corps form California called Santa Clara Vanguard and he played the baritone Bugle.

Last week on Sunday, my family and I went to a Drum Corps show in Buffalo. We had to wait one hour, at the border because it was Caribbana weekend. The drive took us a total of two hours! We finally arrived and met up with our friends, and had a barbecue in the parking lot.

We ate hotdogs, hamburgers, and chips. After the barbecue it was finally time to watch the drum corps show.

All of the teams played really well, but my favourite one was the Blue Devils. The winner of the Drum Corps show was the Blue Devils. Overall this was a really fun trip.

Jace and Darian post

When our family moved in to our house, there was a hill in the lot next to ours. We always did fun things on the hill, like catching frogs and toads, collecting sticks, and playing games. We have played on this hill for four years. One morning we awoke to the sound of construction vehicles. We got up and looked out the window and saw an Excavator destroying the hill. We were extremely sad. The hill was gone. The construction workers then told us that they were going to build a house in the lot. At least we are getting new neighbors.
